our science
nature. now clinically proven.
We’ve invested in multiple third-party and user-reported clinical trials to show the importance and efficacy of our products.
Study 1
Loss of muscle volume after joint surgery

less loss in muscle volume significantly less than placebo

Study 2
Loss of muscle and return to function after joint surgery.
Our third-party clinical trial found that taking mend™ Joint Replacement pre- and post Total Knee Replacement Surgery helps to reduce muscle loss and accelerates regaining strength and restoring functional mobility (e.g. walking & stair climbing).

Better return to physical activity significantly better than placebo

76% less muscle volume loss after 2 weeks Significantly less than placebo

66% less muscle volume loss after 6 weeks Significantly less than placebo

Study 3
Inflammation and muscle loss after joint surgery
Changes in inflammation can influence muscle loss after Total Knee Replacement Surgery. This third-party clinical trial found that taking mend™ Joint Replacement pre- and post Total Knee Replacement Surgery helps to increase satellite cells at the time of surgery and causes a more favorable inflammatory environment after surgery.

Improvement in inflammatory environment after surgery

Study 4
User reported study perform: daily inflammation
This user perception study of over 100 subjects found that taking mend™ Perform: Daily Inflammation daily for four weeks reportedly leads to less discomfort after physical activity, reduced joint swelling and stiffness, and reduced use of over the counter pain medications.
In our user perception study, participants reported:

66% took OTC pain medication less often.

78% felt less discomfort after physical activity.

83% felt less achy or stiff.

Third-party mend™ Study with Slocum Center of Orthopedics & Sports Medicine
Placebo-Controlled:
Participants were randomly assigned to either take mend™ Joint Replacement or placebo.
Double-blind: To prevent bias in research results, neither the participants nor the researchers knew who received mend™ Joint Replacement or the placebo.
Method: A group of 39 adults undergoing TKA ingested either mend™ Joint Replacement (20g of Essential Amino Acids) or placebo twice a day 1 week before to 6 weeks after TKA. At the start and after 6 weeks post-surgery, MRI scans were obtained to measure quadriceps and hamstrings muscle volume.
Sample: 39 subjects ranging from 53 to 76 years of age who were scheduled to undergo primary unilateral Total Knee Arthroplasty, stratified by sex.

Third-party mend™ Study with Slocum Center of Orthopedics & Sports Medicine
Placebo-Controlled: To prevent bias in research results, neither the participants nor the researchers knew who received mend™ Joint Replacement or the placebo.
Method: A group of 28 adults undergoing TKA ingested either mend™ Joint Replacement (20g of Essential Amino Acids) or placebo twice a day 1 week before to 2 weeks after TKA. At the start, after 2 weeks and after 6 weeks post-surgery, MRI scans were obtained to measure mid-thigh muscle and adipose tissue volume. Functional mobility was measured through timed up-and-go, stair climb up, and stair-climb down tests.
Sample: 28 subjects, of which 67.9% female, ranging from 60 to 80 years of age who were scheduled to undergo Total Knee Arthroplasty.

Third-party mend™ Study with Slocum Center of Orthopedics & Sports Medicine
Placebo-Controlled: Participants were randomly assigned to either take mend™ Joint Replacement or placebo.
Double-blind: To prevent bias in research results, neither the participants nor the researchers knew who received mend™ Joint Replacement or the placebo.
Method: A group of 41 adults undergoing TKA ingested either mend™ Joint Replacement (20g of Essential Amino Acids) or placebo twice a day 1 week before to 6 weeks after TKA. Muscle biopsies were obtained from both legs before surgery in the operating room, and patients were randomly assigned and equally allocated to have two additional biopsies at either 1 or 2 weeks after surgery. Biopsies were then processed for gene expression and immunohistochemistry.
Sample: 41 subjects, of which 65.9% were female, ranging from 53 to 76 years of age who were scheduled to undergo Total Knee Arthroplasty.

User Perception Study on mend™ Perform: Daily Inflammation
Method: A group of 111 participants ingested two tablets (1 serving) of Perform: Daily Inflammation for 30 days. Over the course of a month, patients completed self-report surveys at weeks one, two, and four, to rate perceived benefits and provide information on usage experiences.
Sample: 111 respondents, ages 35 to 55, completed the study, of which 53% were female and 47% were male.
